Justin Bieber's DUI trial delayed from May until July 7

Justin Bieber’s DUI trial has been delayed until July at the request of his legal team to have more time to review the case. Bieber was arrested for DUI, resisting arrest and driving without a valid license on Jan. 23 in Miami, Fla.

Bieber’s lawyers are working on figuring out whether or not taking a plea deal is the right move.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Bieber’s lawyer asked for a 60-day extension from the May 6 court date, but the judge set it at July 7, giving them plenty of time to gather information.

The “Never Say Never” singer’s head attorney, Roy Black, said regarding possibly taking a plea deal, "Those decisions have not been made.”

If the case does go to trial, however, they will be making sure they challenge his urine and sobriety testing. There are some serious matters regarding the testing," said Black.

The plea deal would likely involve Bieber being subjected to random drug testing, 40 hours of community service, an alcohol education course and attending a DUI panel in which families of victims share their stories.
