Police search for missing Columbia University dental student

Police are searching for a Columbia University dental student who disappeared just weeks before her graduation.

According to the University Herald, Jiwon Lee was last seen by her roommate at their Manhattan apartment around 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

The Daily Mail reported that investigators allegedly found a suicide note addressed to Lee’s family. However, her family believes foul play is involved.

The Herald also noted that officials tracked her cell phone to a street near the George Washington Bridge.

"The bridge is very concerning," said Lee’s brother, Matt. "But 3 days of searching the harbor (with) helicopters, planes, have shown nothing."

Her family has set up a fund on GoFundMe.com, where they have raised more than $25,000 toward hiring a private detective.

The 29-year-old graduate student is the president of the school’s American Student Dental Association branch.

She is described as 5 feet 2, 120 pounds, with black hair and dark eyes. Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact police.
