Queen Elsa's dress from 'Frozen' becomes pricey after shortage of dresses

A piece of clothing is staring to cause quite a stir. The dress worn by Princess Elsa in the hit animated film Frozen has sold out at multiple stores across the United States causing for many parents to go to extreme lengths.

As a result of not ordering enough gowns stores began selling out as early as January of this year, reported Bloomburg News. Therefore now parents have the option of buying original dresses that can be go for as high as $1,600 on eBay or paying $225 for a replica dress on Etsy.com.

With little understanding of the popularity of Frozen would have, retailers stocked their stores with a similar amount of dresses as when another Disney princess movie, Tangled, came out in 2010. However Frozen has proven its popularity.

As previously reported, the movie became the highest grossing animated film ever at $1.072 billion earlier this year surpassing the previous animated movie,Toy Story 3.
