Rain postpones Sprint Cup race in Texas

NASCAR postponed Sunday’s Sprint Cup Race at Texas Motor Speedway until Monday due to non-stop rain. The Duck Commander 500 was re-scheduled for Monday at noon and will be televised on FOX.

This is not the first time rain has interrupted a race this season, but it is the first time a race has been postponed because of it. Three races have been temporarily stopped from the rain, but they all managed to resume and finish.

According to the Miami Herald there is still a chance of rain for tomorrow in the Fort Worth area. The forecast shows it to be cloudy with a 40 percent chance of afternoon thunderstorms.

According to ESPN Tony Stewart will be in the front of the pack when the green flag eventually waves. This is the first time Stewart has won the pole position in 19 months.

Texas will be busy on Monday seeing as though after the race the NCAA championship will start in nearby Arlington.
