'The Voice' battle round 2 concludes

The Voice returns for another night of battle rounds. With only a few spots left on the teams, every note counted towards a future in the competition.

First up for the new battle round was Team Shakira who paired up Dani Moz against Clarissa Serna. The ladies performed their own version of P!nk’s “Perfect.” Levine started off the comments by saying that both sides showed major improvement and that he could tell that at the start both vocalists were nervous. In the end, Shakira chose to move forward with Moz, who will advance to the playoff rounds.

Next up to the stage was Team Adam, who paired duo Dawn & Hawkes up against female rocker, Kat Perkins. They performed “Suddenly I See,” by KT Tunstall. Perkins had a great moment when she was honestly star struck by celebrity mentor, Chris Martin. Shelton said that Dawn & Hawkes really owned the stage but he would give the battle to Perkins. Usher added that the one suggestions that both vocalists really had a strong vibe on stage but he would also vote for Perkins. After much deliberation, Perkins advanced on Team Adam and Dawn & Hawkes left the competition.

Next up was Team Usher who paired Music Box up against Melissa Jimenez. The ladies decided to perform their own version of “Girl On Fire” by Alicia Keys. Levine mentioned that he performed that single with Keys during a performance and he could really feel the good moments during the performance but he would give the battle to Jimenez. Shelton explained that Jimenez was very smooth with her performance but he would go with Music Box winning the performance. Usher had the final decision and he moved Jimenez to the playoff rounds.

Team Blake followed Team Usher with the final pairing of Team Blake for the night. He paired up Kaleigh Glanton and Ryan Whyte Maloney. They decided to sing “Easy” by Rascal Flatts and Natasha Bedingfield. Starting off the judges’ comments was Usher who asked why they picked the record and they responded that they liked the challenge. Shakira said that if she had to decide she would advance Maloney. In the end, Shelton advanced Maloney to the next round of the competition.

Following Team Blake was Team Adam. Levine paired together Brittnee Camelle and Jake Barker. The chose to take on “Climax” by Voice coach Usher. Shelton started off the comments by saying that he liked both performances. Usher said that it was unfair for him to pick a winner and that they both gave great performances. Shakira said that she would give the battle to Barker. In the end, Levine decided to move Barker forward.

The final battle of the night went to Team Usher. The final paring was between Bria Kelly against Madilyn Page who chose to sing “I’ll Stand By You.” Shakira started off the comments by saying that the battle was great and it was well fought. Levine added that Kelly really stepped out of her comfort zone. The final spot on Team Usher went to Kelly.

The final steal of the battle rounds went to Team Blake who stole Madilyn Page.

The playoff rounds start tomorrow night on NBC.
