‘The Voice’ top 8 announced

Opening the show was a large announcement by Carson Daily who confirmed that Pharrell Williams and Gwen Stefani would be joining the Voice family next season. It had been speculated that Stefani would be featured next season as a coach but not formal until tonight.

Following that large announcement, Team Usher along with their coach took the stage to perform “Always on the Run” by Lenny Kravitz.

Wasting no time, the first of the results were announced. Christina Grimme from Team Adam was the first vocalist to advance to the top eight. Following Grimmie into the top eight was Sisaundra Lewis from Team Blake.

The eliminations continued on as additional results were reviled. America also saved from Team Shakira, Kristen Merlin. Following Merlin into the top eight was Josh Kaufman from Team Usher.

Before more results were announced, Team Shakira took to the stage to perform a single off of her latest album. Following that performance, which was dedicated to her son, more results were read. Another vocalist moving onto the top eight was Audra McLaughlin from Team Blake, along with Delvin Choice from Team Adam.

New this season the bottom three artists perform before the instant save window is open, each vocalist is given the chance to sing for the instant save. Kelly opened the performances by putting her own unique spin on “Crazy In Love.” Next up was Tess Boyer who chose to sing “Who Knew” by P!nk. “Paris, Oh, La La La” was the song that the final artist Kat Perkins chose to perform for her instant save performance.

The artist that was saved and moved onto the top eight was Kat Perkins representing Team Adam, this send Tess Boyer and Bria Kelly home.

The top eight will perform for America’s vote on Monday night on NBC.
