Ultra Music Festival, which takes place annual in Miami, Florida has been drawing in thousands of fans from all over the world year after year but this year the festival isn’t taking chances when it comes to its security plans.
The festival announced today that they would be going through a comprehensive review of all security products for the upcoming event. This happens after an incident that took place last weekend. A group crushed a security fence on Friday that caused in a security guard that left her in critical condition, Billboard reported.
The Miami Mayor and city officials wanted to deny permits for next years festival but the representatives from Ultra explained that they would be undergoing an entire security review, Reuters detailed.
This years Ultra Music Festival did feature a larger police presence, 257 officers were deployed and 18 undercover officers, including Homeland security and DEA officers, attended the festival. This year also featured a double fence and an additional eight feet high security fence.
