US sanctions against friends of President Putin may jeopardize Miley Cyrus and Justin Timberlake concerts

Performers like Miley Cyrus, Justin Timberlake, Aerosmith, and Robbie Williams may have to cancel tour dates that are in Russia after the US put sanctions against Russia.

Gennady Timchenko, and Arkady and Boris Rotenberg own Helsinki's Hartwall venue, where the concerts are being held. Timchenko and the Rotenberg brothers are on a list of people who are in President Putin’s inner circle.

Under the US sanctions, no American citizens can provide Timchenko, or the brothers will any kind of “economic resources,” according to the BBC.

In an effort to keep the concerts on track, concert promoter Live Nation Finland said that it’s lawyers were discussing whether the sanctions would affect already planned concerts like Cyrus, who is schedule for play in June, and Timberlake’s, which is schedule for May, according to Reuters.

Visa bans, and any United States assets were frozen as part of the sanctions against anyone on the list of 27 people politically or personally close for President Putin, who sent troops to the Ukrainian border.
