Last night was the 100th Annual White House Correspondents' Association Dinner, and celebrities went all out to hear President Obama and Joel McHale speak. There were celebs looking their brightest and then there were those looking very out of fashion. Between showing off too much, to wearing feathers, these celebrities were the worst dressed of the night.
The WHCD is an event that is meant for the president and for the press to have a night of being friendly. There are jokes said at each other’s expense and there is a night of peace between the two groups. In most recent years, the dinner began to invite celebrities into the mix.
I wrote a best dressed list that included Scandal’s Katie Lowes and 12 Years a Slave’s Lupita Nyong’o. They put the glamour into the political event. The people on this list, however, did not look very good.
Being on the worst dressed list has nothing to do with my personal opinion on the celebrity. Some of the girls on the list are celebrities that I adore but it is their look last night that I don’t like.

10. Kristen Bell
It broke my heart to put Kristen Bell on this list. While she normally looks adorable on the red carpet, this dress just didn’t work. The color was off and the beads were strange. Most of all, she looked too young in the dress.
The dress was flattering on her, I do have to admit that. However, it was not a pretty dress.

9. Jamie Anderson
Jamie Anderson’s dress was a wardrobe malfunction waiting to happen. The super tough Olympian seemed uncomfortable in the tan dress. It was not only a bit too open but it seemed not to hang on her correctly. Jamie tried the tan route at the Espys’ this year but it still wasn’t working. I suggest Anderson to use one of Scarlett Johansson’s dresses as an inspiration for her next red carpet look.
Jamie is beautiful! She needs a beautiful dress to make her look even better.

8. Willie Robertson
He may be business smart in Duck Dynasty but he definitely is not fashion forward. Didn’t someone tell him that he forgot to tie his bow tie? And can we just talk about that hair? I understand that is his normal look and he has an image to uphold but the WHCD is a tradition and dressing too casually is a slap in the face to the history of the dinner.
Robertson is the only male on my worst list because he simply looks like a fish out of water. He would be even lower on the list but his bandana (sigh…) does have the USO on it.

7. Kathleen Sebelius
The former Secretary of Health and Human Services, Kathleen Sebelius, was going for a belted look, in that it looked like she was wrapped in seat belts. And can we talk about that necklace? It looks like a cheap souvenir from a coastline city vacation.
I know that she knows how to look fashion forward. She wore a gorgeous green dress to the Governor’s Ball. Maybe her dress was a reflection on all of the rocky roll out of Healthcare.gov jokes?

6. Anna Kendrick
She did not look Pitch Perfect. (Did you see what I did there?) Kendrick normally looks wonderful on the red carpet. However, there was something about this blue dress that just didn’t work. The dress was not only underwhelming but the two different materials on the dress made it look unfinished.
Her hair did look great though!

5. Cynthia Rowley
Oh man. Wearing a dress with feathers on the red carpet is always a risk. Sometimes it works and others it doesn’t. It does not work for Cynthia Rowley.
Even if the bottom of the dress wasn’t pillow-like, the dress is still too loose on there. Rowley is pretty. She needs something off the shoulders or even a little bit tight. I have to give her props for actually dressing for the occasion. She didn’t try to look sexy and that is great.

4. Darby Stanchfield
This would be a great Halloween costume. She looks like a beautiful garden fairy. However, for the WHCD, she looks a little out of fashion. The Scandal star often finds herself on the best-dressed list but last night was not very good.
The dress wouldn’t have been so bad if it didn’t have the green fringe, leaf looking material on it. Darby should have gone simple like her BCBG dress that she wore on the red carpet.

3. Mae Whitman
The spunky Parenthood star is normally pretty fashionable on the red carpet. However, she looked rough on the red carpet last night.
The gown Whitman chose was a little frumpy and the bottom looked like it needed to be pressed. The necklace wasn’t much better. It made the top of her dress look too busy. And the up-do was basically an up-don’t.

2. Cynthia Nixon
Where do I start? The pattern is disgustingly ugly. It doesn’t fit her in a way that looks flattering. And did I mention that the pattern is bad? She looks like she made a dress from the curtains in the White House. She should have gone with something simple like this.

1. Rose McGowan
Honestly, Rose McGowan’s dress inspired me to make this list. It was beyond bad. I mean, did she know that the president was going to be there? The inappropriately daring slit in her dress was enough to put her on the worst list. But the light pink top part was just too much. If you glance at it, it kind of makes her look like she is topless.
She should have gone with something that covers her up more like this. But hey, at least she didn’t pull another stunt and wear practically nothing!
