Bret Michaels rushed off stage mid-concert after suffering from medical emergency

Just three songs into his set in Manchester, N.H, Bret Michaels had to be rushed off stage after suffering from a medical emergency. The former Rock of Love star is a diabetic and had low blood sugar, causing him to be rushed to the hospital.

Michaels’ guitarist, Pete Evick, took to the rocker’s Facebook page to let fans in on the medical emergency.

“In the 9 years I've stood next to him, I've never seen a look like the one on his face as if I was a complete stranger. One of the crew returned instantly to notify me that Bret's blood sugar was extremely low,” he wrote.

He continued, “As you all know he is a health fanatic and fiercely monitors his blood sugar, he basically had to be dragged off the stage in his sickest of conditions. When I rushed to the bus he could barley speak, but begged me to apologize to the fans and seemed only concerned for them.”

According to E! Online, in 2010, the now 51-year-old rocker had a health scare when he suffered a stroke then a brain hemorrhage.

After getting checked out by paramedics, Michaels’ team posted a message to Twitter to thank them.

“Sending a shout out 2 all the paramedics both on & off duty who assisted Bret tonight. No words can thank you enough for ur help - Team Bret,” read the message.
