Canadiens avoid 3-0 deficit with overtime win over Rangers

In the first 59 and a half minutes of game three of the Eastern Conference Finals, three goals were scored; in the final two minutes of play, two shots found their way to the back of the net.
The Montreal Canadiens held a 2-1 advantage with 30 seconds left in regulation, until New York Rangers left wing Chris Kreider sent a shot toward the goal that found its way into the back of the net off the skate of Canadiens defenseman Alexei Emelin.

With score tied at two, the two teams set up to play an extra period. The game did not last long into the overtime period because Montreal centerman Alex Galchenyuk netted his first goal of the postseason 1:12 into the overtime.

In only his second playoff game, Canadiens goalie Dustin Tokarski saved 35 shots and posted a save percentage of 94.6, according to ESPN.com.
“Anytime you play well, it helps you out for the long run,” Tokarski said in his postgame press conference according to nhl.com. “Hopefully we can have another good game next time.”
The two goals scored by the Canadiens in regulation were off the sticks of defenseman Andrei Markov and centerman Daniel Brière.
For the Rangers, who saw their five-game winning streak snapped, left wing Carl Hagelin gave them a 1-0 lead in the first period and Kreider tied the game for them late in the third.
New York now leads the series 2-1. Game four is scheduled for Sunday night at Madison Square Garden. The action will then turn back to Montreal for game five on Tuesday night.
