'Chronicles: The Library of Illumination' by C.A. Pack

I must admit, when I first read the title of this book it reminded me of the Delphi Chronicles. But, after just a page or two, I could see this is a very original book.

C. A. Pack has created a real page-turner and a world within a world, which isn’t the easiest thing to do. Two teens are caught up in an unusual set of circumstances that take them on an adventure you couldn’t imagine in your wildest dreams. The Library of Illumination is very special; one cannot even locate it unless it wants you to find it. Within the walls are certain books with special powers and they actually come to life when opened. Johanna, one of the teens, is chosen as the curator and though young, proves to be a very mature individual. Jackson is a curator-in-training and has his own unique set of circumstances that shape his goals.

What seems at first to be just a library and just a job turns out to be so much more: the teens are caught up in an inter-dimensional battle with an ancient enemy. This book is truly unique and has the reader thirsting for more pages to turn as the adventure unfolds.

I must give this book two thumbs, way up, for extraordinary imagination and storey telling at its best. Happy reading!
