Doc Rivers says Donald Sterling's remarks have been a distraction to the Clipper players

Los Angeles Clippers head coach Doc Rivers says that the remarks made by owner Donald Sterling have been a distraction for the players on the team.

ESPN reports how during an interview on May 4, Rivers described how Sterling's remarks have caused the Clipper players to become distracted and even angry. Rivers says, "In our first meeting after the tapes came out and we had a meeting before practice, and when I walked in that room and looked at [the players'] faces, it was bothering them. They were angry."

Sterling, who is the owner of the Clippers recieved a lifetime ban from the NBA along with a fine for $2.5 million. TMZ reveals how NBA Commissioner Adam Silver handed down Sterling's lifetime ban. Silver announced that he has the full support of the NBA owners to remove Sterling from the NBA. Silver noted how, "The hateful opinions are those of Mr. Sterling. The views expressed by Mr. Sterling are deeply offensive and harmful."

Many NBA players have expressed their support in favor of Silver and agree with his decision to ban Sterling for life. According to Hollywood Life, NBA players such as LeBron James and Dwyane Wade took to social media to commend Silver for his decision.
