Jason Segel and Cameron Diaz's 'Sex Tape' gets new release date

The release date of Jason Segel and Cameron Diaz’s Sex Tape has been moved up one week, coming out on July 18 instead of July 25.

Sony announced the change-up on Friday, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Instead of competing with Hercules, which stars Dwayne Johnson, Scarlett Johansson, as well as Lucy and Step Up: All In, it will now go up against Jupiter Ascending, The Purge: Anarchy and Planes: Fire & Rescue.

The film is based on Bad Teacher co-stars Diaz and Segel’s sex tape accidentally going public and their characters’ attempts to stop their parents, bosses and friends from seeing it.

Sex Tape also stars Rob Corddry, Ellie Kemper, Jack Black and Rob Lowe. Todd Black,Jason Blumenthal, and Steve Tisch are producing while Kate Angelo, Segel and Nicholas Stoller wrote the script.

Diaz and Segel will reunite with their Bad Teacher director Jake Kasdan for the film.
