Nintendo faces incredible losses this year

The game company, Nintendo has reported that they did not meet their expectations for the last fiscal year.

Numbers were a bit less than anticipated. Their sales ended up at $5.6 billion, according to Forbes. Wii U and 3DS have been falling short of their sales goals. Their total loss for the last three years was recorded at $1.18 billion. Overall, Nintendo’s figures are down about 10% from last year’s figures. The console sold over 6.17 million units, since its launch in 2012, according to the Digital Spy.

The company is looking ahead. In this fiscal year, Nintendo is predicting a gain of $392.7 million. Nintendo is also looking at entertainment experiences they are calling “Quality of Life.” Although they haven’t yet revealed a statement that articulates what that means, analysts believe that it speaks to a long-term plan to expand beyond games.

On the up side, Nintendo has been doing well with products like Pokeman X and Y. New games will be presented this year, as well. Anticipated products from Nintendo include Mario Kart 8 for Wii U and Super Smash Bros for Wii U and 3DS.
