Renny Harlin to direct Jackie Chan in 'Skiptrace'

Action director Renny Harlin is in talks to direct the upcoming Jackie Chan motion picture Skiptrace. The movie was going to be directed by Sam Fell but now it looks like Harlin will be replacing him in the directors chair.

Variety reported that Chan will be playing the lead role in the film along side Seann William Scott and Fan Bingbing. Chan will be playing a Hong Kong detective who is tracking a big time crime boss. Chan will have to team up with an American gambler in order to catch this crime boss. Bingbing will be playing the niece of Chan’s character, who gets into trouble with a crime group.

Business Standard added that Harlin is known for his work on films such as, Die Hard 2,'Long Kiss Goodbye and this year's Legend of Hercules which did not impress at the box office.

Jay Longino will be writing the script for Skiptrace.

The film is set to go into production in August of this year.
