Students try to poison teacher’s coffee with bleach

Authorities have said that two ten-year-old boys in England allegedly tried to poison their teacher by pouring a lethal bleach-like substance into her coffee.

The Independent reported that Emma Place, a teacher from Clapham Terrace Community Primary School, had her back turned when the boys allegedly poured the substance into her coffee flask.

Place did not sip her coffee after another student alerted her to what happened.

Police were called to the school and confiscated the flask. They said that believed it was an “isolated incident.” The school then dealt with the situation internally and suspended both of the culprits.

The New York Daily News noted that the two boys are part of a gang that calls themselves “The Mafia” and that the 39-year-old teacher was allegedly on a so-called “hit list” along with six other teachers.

The attempted poisoning comes just one day after another teacher at an area school was stabbed to death in front of a class by one of her students.
