TV Ratings: 'The Big Bang Theory' surges up in finale, 'Rosemary's Baby' concludes flat

The Big Bang Theory bowed out for the season up in the ratings on Thursday night, while NBC's Rosemary's Baby went out just a tick lower than its already bad premiere.

CBS took the night with a 2.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 8.99 million viewers. The Big Bang finale tied last year's exit in the ratings with a 4.8 demo rating, but had the show's best overall audience for a closing episode with 16.3 million viewers, reports HitFix. The Millers also finished its freshman run up slightly to a 2.4 in the demo, while the cancelled Bad Teacher was steady with a 1.4 rating. Elementary followed also even on the night with a 1.4 rating in the demo.

Fox was competitive on Thursday night, pulling in a 1.9 demo rating and 6.66 million viewers. American Idol improved to a 2.0 in the demo, while Hell's Kitchen saw a modest gain to a 1.7 rating.

Coming in third was ABC with a 1.4 in the 18-49 demo and 5.47 million viewers. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Grey's Anatomy's finale and Sandra Oh's last episode didn't entice viewers all that much. After last week's big loss the show closed out to a 2.5 demo rating, which is a stumble from last season's finale. Freshman drama Black Box continues its unimpressive midseason run with another drop, down to a 1.1 in the demo.

NBC averaged a 1.0 in the demo and 3.47 million viewers. The second night of Rosemary's Baby went out as unimpressive as it began, dipping to a 1.0 rating in the demo, managing to actually lose viewers from weak lead in Hollywood Game Night, which took in a 1.1 rating.

With both Thursday shows closing out for the season, the CW averaged a 0.6 in the demo and 1.415 million viewers. The Vampire Diaries bowed out slightly up to a 0.8 rating, while Reign held even with a 0.5 demo rating.
