Angels extend winning streak to six, win 6-4 over Twins

The Los Angeles Angels (44-33) defeated the Minnesota Twins (36-41) Thursday at Angel Stadium. The Angels extended their season-long win streak to six with a great team win.

Five Angels hitters had multi hit games, eight of nine starters had a hit, and Jared Weaver (8-6) allowed just one run in seven innings according to MLB.com

The Angels won their 12 of their last 13 home games, and not sit 11 games over .500. Closer Joe Smith gave up a three-run double to Joe Mauer in the ninth inning to make it 6-4. Smith then struck out Kendrys Morales for his seventh save of the season.

Shortstop Erick Aybar hit a run-scoring double in the first inning, joining Orlando Cabrera as the only Angels shortstops to record 20 doubles and 40 runs batted in before the All-Star game, according to the Los Angeles Times

Twins pitcher Ricky Nolasco (4-6) was tagged for six runs on 11 hits in six innings. Nolasco has failed to pitch past the sixth inning in his last four starts.
