Bill Russell, David Robinson consider Tim Duncan one of the all-time NBA greats

Is Tim Duncan one of the greatest NBA players of all time? When asked, Hall of Fame Boston Celtics legend Bill Russell says Duncan is right at the top to being one of the greatest players ever.

"Right up there at the top," said Russell, reported by USA Today.

His former teammate and good friend David Robinson was asked whom would he start his team with. Either Duncan or a player whom fans consider the greatest basketball player ever Michael Jordan. Robinson said he would take Duncan over Jordan any day. Saying that Tim is an assassin on the court just like Jordan was.

“Tim is every bit the assassin Michael was,” said Robinson in an interview with
The Dan Patrick Show.

Duncan has career averages of 19.9 points a game on 50.6 percent shooting, plus 11 boards a game. This Finals Duncan passed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for most playoff games played, he passed Magic Johnson for most playoffs double-doubles, according to NBC Sports.

His San Antonio Spurs recently won an NBA championship. It is title number five for the veteran who was drafted in the league in 1997. He has compiled quit a resume since arriving in San Antonio. He has been regarded as one of the greatest big men to ever play the game, and this title has put him in another class.
