A recent New York newscast featured a very special guest. The guest was none other than the Queen of neo-soul herself, Erykah Badu.
News anchor Mario Diaz was attempting to do a report on Shia LaBeouf for New York station PIX 11 when Badu decided to make a brief on-air cameo. The singer can be seen behind Diaz walking across the frame, smiling and making lewd hand gestures. At one point Badu even tries to kiss Diaz. Diaz, however, was able to rebuff Badu by stiff-arming her out of the way according to The Huffington Post.
The shenanigans didn’t end there. Viewers of the newscast were able to identify Badu. Diaz called her out via Twitter, and after initially denying that the person in the video was her, Badu playfully apologized saying “sorry Mario.”
#Btw my wife and 2-year-old were 20 yards away when it happened… She saw the roll up, you putting on hat & everything.— Mario Diaz (@MarioPIX11) June 28, 2014
