Michael Rosenbaum to star in TV Land comedy

Michael Rosenbaum, known for his work as Lex Luthor on the CW’s Smallville and as the Flash in the Justice League cartoon, has been cast in a single-camera sitcom Impastor for TV Land.

As noted in TV Line, the show features Rosenbaum as a low-life with little ambition and huge debts who chooses to lie low in a small town and hides in plain sight as a recently gay pastor.

The show will be written and executive produced by Christopher Vane, who had previously worked on both the Bill Engvall Show and Suddenly Susan. The show will also be executive produced, as noted by The Hollywood Reporter, by Eric and Kim Tannenbaum, Robert Greenberg, and even Rosenbaum himself.

In the years since Smallville’s end, Rosenbaum has jumped around from role to role including stints on Fox’s Breaking In (where he starred alongside Christian Slater) and the mid-season 1960’s space comedy Mission Control, which has recently been ordered to series and will be forced to recast Rosenbaum’s role. He also appeared in the film Hit and Run, and even wrote, directed and starred in his film Back in the Day.
