Mick Jagger helps promote Monty Python reunion show

Mick Jagger, lead singer of the band the Rolling Stones, and his bandmate Charlie Watts have helped promote the reunion show of the Monty Python’s team through a sketch the pokes fun at both group’s ability to withstand the test of time.

In the sketch, Mick Jagger discusses his incredulity that the Monty Python group are still performing, saying they are, “a bunch of wrinkly old men trying to relive their youth and make a load of money." He then discusses one of his upcoming shows and the songs that will be performed there, listing out time honored classics that fans have loved for years.

The Monty Python team, with the exception of Graham Chapman who died in 1989 according toCBS News, will be reuniting for a final live goodbye tour at London’s O2 theater. The show will contain clips from past sketches, along with popular sketches that will be performed live for the first time. There will also be special guests in the filmed portions, such as astrophysicist Steven Hawking as reported by BBC News.

Python Eric Idle talked about the opportunity offered by the tour reported CBS News, saying “...It means you're actually going to say goodbye publicly on one show, and nobody ever has the chance to do that. The Beatles didn't get a last 'good night.'"

The final live show of the tour will be available in theaters and on U.K. cable.
