Ohio mom says daughter who attacked her was obsessed with Slender Man

An Ohio mother has claimed that her daughter, who allegedly attacked her, was obsessed with the fictional-horror character Slender Man.

According to WLWT, a Hamilton County woman has claimed that her 13-year-old daughter’s alleged attack on her may have been the result of her fascination with the fictional character.

The unidentified woman said that her daughter, who attacked her with a knife, was obsessed with the character she had read about online.

The mother said she came home one night and her daughter was waiting for her in the kitchen with a white mask on and began stabbing her. She was treated for minor cuts on her face and neck and the teen girl is being held in a Juvenile Detention Center.

Her mother told the station that she made the connection after hearing about the 12-year-old girls in Wisconsin who allegedly stabbed their friend 19 times to please Slender Man.

The two suspects in that case, Morgan Geyser and Anissa Weier, told authorities that they planned the attack on their friend in order to become “proxies” of Slender Man. The incident happened on May 31 and the victim, who is continuing to recover, has since returned home from the hospital.

“She is going to survive this,” family friend Krista Natarelli told Good Morning America. “People can overcome horrible things. She is a beacon of life for all of us.”
