Scoot McNairy to join ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’

Argo and The Rover star Scoot McNairy has joined the cast of Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice.

According to The Wrap, McNairy will join the burgeoning film in a yet unknown capacity—he joins Holly Hunter, Tao Okamoto, and Callan Mulvey in this respect. This would be his third film starring alongside Batman himself, Ben Affleck (Argo and the upcoming Gone Girl).

The mystery of his role has led to the obvious speculation that he may be playing a hero like the Flash or perhaps Green Lantern, but we won’t know until an official announcement comes from DC/Warner Brothers. Most of the casting surrounding the film has been predicated on rumor and speculation, such as the involvement of stage actor Ray Fischer and Jason Momoa. Reliable sources have run these stories, however, so it may just be WB playing it close to the chest for the time being (the film is still two years away). Expect a massive rollout of official news next month at DC's panel at San Diego Comic Con.

Mcnairy joins the aforementioned Affleck, along with Henry Cavil, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, Diane Lane, and Gal Gadot in WB/DC’s attempt to unleash the entire DC universe onto the silver screen. Batman v. Superman is slated to open May 6th, 2016.
