TV Ratings: 'Ninja Warrior' strong in return, '24' improves

NBC's competition series Ninja Warrior was strong in its Monday return, while 24: Live Another Day managed to improve in the ratings.

Fox took the night thanks to a 1.8 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 5.66 million viewers. 24 was up over the previous week to a 1.8 rating in the demo, HitFix reports. A new episode of MasterChef also ticked up to a 1.7 demo rating.

NBC was right on the tail of Fox with a 1.7 rating in the advertiser-important demo, but had a relatively weak 4.93 million viewers. The network kicked things off with a repeat of Last Comic Standing, which snagged a 1.3 rating. Ninja Warrior returned up over last season with a 1.9 demo rating average between its two-hour premiere.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, ABC came third with on the night, averaging a 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demo and the strongest overall audience with 5.83 million viewers. The Bachelorette ticked up slightly to a 1.7 demo rating, while Mistresses returned even with last season at a 1.2 rating in the demo.

CBS continues to air encores and the CW returned with new episodes of Beauty and the Beast and Whose Line Is It Anyway, which both ticked up, to a 0.4 rating and 0.5, respectively.
