WWE legend Pat Patterson comes out as gay in emotional video

Pat Patterson, a WWE executive and WWE Hall of Famer, revealed in an emotional video that he is gay. For the past 50 years, he has kept it a secret, but he felt that he could open up to his fellow WWE icons in the Legends House series.

In a clip from the show, Patterson, 73, is seen sitting with his fellow wrestling icons and told them that he felt comfortable saying something he’s never said publicly.

“From where I come from, I had nothing, no family, no money, and I ended up [working] with Vince [McMahon]...to me, that was the biggest achievement of my life,” Patterson said, notes E! News. “But there's more to that. Sitting here tonight, I'm going to say something I would never want to say. For once in my life I'm going to be me. I survived all this being gay.”

In addition, Patterson revealed that he had a partner for 40 years, but he died of a heart attack, leaving him alone. He tears up, but his fellow Legends House stars are there for him. “We love you, Pat. We've always loved you,” one tells him.

The other WWE legends at the table are Roddy Piper, Jimmy Hart, Hacksaw Jim Duggan and Hillbilly Jim.

As TheWrap points out, Patterson is the second WWE star to recently announce he is gay. Back in August 2013, Darren Young told TMZ that he is gay.
