Bindi Irwin speaks out about father's death

Bindi Irwin, daughter of famous crocodile Hunter, Steve Irwin, speaks out about her father’s untimely death.

Steve Irwin is best known for his role in Animal Planet’s Crocodile Hunter, a documentary style television show that followed the wildlife expert around. In 2006, Steve was killed in a freak accident while filming for Ocean’s Deadliest, getting pierced in the chest by a stingray and killing him almost instantly, reports TheCelebrityCafe.com.

His daughter, however, recently spoke out about dealing with the loss of her father, admitting she has yet to get over his passing. "I remember after we lost Dad, so many adults came up to me and said, 'Honey, time heals all wounds,' " Bindi tells People. "That is the biggest lie you will ever hear. It doesn't. That kind of sadness never goes away. It's like losing a piece of your heart that you never get back."

Bindi also has expressed her feelings towards following in her father’s footsteps. "He was the greatest dad on the planet,” she confessed to E Online. “He was our inspiration, who we looked up to the most and, for us, we wanna carry on his legacy. We wanna make sure that his message of wildlife and conservation continues, because he was the world's greatest conservationist and so we never want that message to die.”
