Early Wrap: Joan Rivers defended Israel, ‘The Expendables 3’ leaks online, and coaching position offered to Bryon Scott

Joan Rivers defended Israel after reporters asked her about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. She said that there hasn’t been enough information about Hamas. Rivers also said that she was disappointed by the misrepresentation of the conflict, particularly by the BBC and CNN’s reporting. Israel and Hamas have agreed to a 12 hour ceasefire.

The film, The Expendables 3, has appeared online. It was leaked on Thursday, and was downloaded more than 100,000 times. The film features Sylvester Stallone, Jason Stratham, Antonio Banderas, Jet Li and Harrison Ford. The official release date for the film was intended to be Aug. 15.

Los Angeles offered a head-coaching position to Byron Scott. Scott met with the Lakers three times to chat about becoming head coach of the team. Magic Johnson, James Worthy, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar played with Byron Scott, and he has already been a head coach in the NBA.

Investigators headed to the Air Algerie crash site. French investigators found the wreckage from the plane on Thursday evening, and soldiers have been looking at the site in Mali. Flight AH 5017 from Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso lost contact with air control while flying to Algeria. There were no survivors from the crash.

The movie, The Last of Us, has been officially announced at Comic-Con. Sam Raimi will be producing the project. The film is based on the Playstation 3 video game. Raimi is also adapting The Outpost: An Untold Story of American Valor.
