Early Wrap: Tony Dungy talks Michael Sam, 'Fight Club' becomes a comic book, fruit recalled due to listeria

Tony Dungy gave him opinion on Michael Sam, the first openly-gay NFL player. Dungy said that he wouldn’t have taken Sam as part of the draft. This was surprising news for some. Sam received recognition, winning the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at the 2014 ESPY’s. Sam delivered an important speech at the award ceremony. While he has many fans now, skeptics like Dungy consider Sam’s long journey ahead.

Fans of the movie, Fight Club will be welcoming the comic book form of the story. Fight Club is about an unnamed narrator and the character, Tyler Durden. The movie starred Edward Norton and Brad Pitt. Dark Horse Comics will be producing the comic book series, based on Chuck Palahniuk’s characters. Fight Club 2 will be available beginning in Spring 2015.

A nationwide recall of all fruit was ordered due to Listeria bacteria. Concerned consumers learned about the recall from the California company. Listeria bacteria can cause symptoms of fever, headache, nausea, and abdominal pain. The FDA told consumers that they should throw own the recalled fruit. The fruit was shipped between June 1 and July 12.

Selena Gomez celebrates her 22nd birthday. Gomez was vacationing on a yacht in Saint Tropez. Her friends sent their best, with Taylor Swift uploading a picture to Instagram to recognize Gomez’s 22 years. Fans are keeping up with an on-again, off-again relationship with Justin Bieber.

Word got out that Chase Headley has been traded to the New York Yankees from the San Diego Padres. Headley has had a spectacular career. In 2012, Headley had 31 home runs. The key player won a Gold Glove award. Headley is aiming for many great things, including the chance to win the American League Eastern Division title.
