MSN reported that when Banks spoke with the Today Show she admitted that because the first film was so loved, she is feeling the pressure. "Especially because people love the first movie so much, I definitely feel a lot of responsibility to the fans, to my fellow actors, and I mean, shouldering it every day," said Banks.

Along with directing the film, Banks will also be returning to her role as commentator Gail Abernathy-McKadden in the film. Banks was a producer on the first Pitch Perfect but this is the first time she will be helming a full-length feature project.

She also provided some insight into what the storyline of the second film would include. "The Bellas have a new main rival this time around, and I will not say who they are. They've gotten too big for their britches, possibly literally. And they've sort of forgotten about the music a little bit," Banks explained.

The sequel will feature the return of Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, Skylar Astin, Anna Camp and Brittany Snow. Pitch Perfect 2 will also feature some newcomers including, Hailee Steinfeld, Chrissie Fit and Katey Sagal.

The Hollywood Reporter added that the film is already in production and the cast members went through four weeks of rehearsals.

Pitch Perfect 2 will be released in May of 2015.
