Katy Perry accused of copyright infringement for 'Dark Horse'

A year after Katy Perry was faced with music copying claims for “Roar,” which people criticized it’s similarities to Sara Bareilles’ “Brave,” Katy Perry has been hit with some fresh copyright infringement claims. This time, it’s for her hit single “Dark Horse.”

According to the The Huffington Post, Perry is being sued by Christian-Contemporary artists Flame, Da T.R.U.T.H. and Lecrae, who are claiming that Perry ripped off their song “Joyful Noise.”

Christianity Today reported that the duo had ill feelings about the song and what it did to the purpose of their song. The Christian Contemporary has said that their song has been "irreparably tarnished by its association with the witchcraft, paganism, black magic, and Illuminati imagery evoked by the same music in 'Dark Horse."

“Dark Horse” was a gigantic hit and became her ninth number one single. The song features rapper Juicy J and the two performed the song at the 2014 Grammy Awards. The song went on to sell five million digital copies.
