Kristen Wiig may have a nude scene in 'Welcome to Me'

Kristen Wigg has already shown her comedic chops, and is starting to show her dramatic chops in some recent endeavors. But, if her recent quotes are to be believed, she may be showing a whole lot more in her new movie, Welcome to Me.

Speaking to Elle Magazine, Wiig talked about her upcoming appearance in the movie, which centers on a woman named Alice Klieg, who suffers from Borderline Personality Disorder. After Alice wins the lottery, she bails on her meds and buys her way into having her own talk show. She got to talking about how this character was different than any other she had to play before, and had the following to add.

"I’d never read a character like that," she said. "I got to a scene where it read, ‘She’s fully naked,’ and I remember thinking: If I do this movie, I have to do this scene because it’s really important to this script."

Based on her words, it appears that this is not just a simple nude scene, but possibly a full-frontal requirement for the rising star. The movie has been rated R for sexual content, some graphic nudity, language and brief drug use, which seems to back up Wiig's words. However, a year ago, there was a casting call released looking for a body double for Wiig relating to this particular movie. So this means either one of two things: either A., she decided to ditch the body double and do the scene herself or B. she is lying and she doesn't actually get nude.

Whichever is true, the answer should be revealed in the near future. Directed by Shira Piven, the wife of Adam McKay (the Anchorman movies) who is producing alongside Will Ferrell, Welcome to Me is completed, but does not have a release date at the moment. It is possible that the movie will be hitting the upcoming film festival circuit coming up in the next couple months. If so, expect to hear more about this movie and this now well-publicized scene.

Wiig was recently heard in How to Train Your Dragon 2 earlier this summer, and will soon be showing her more dramatic side in The Skeleton Twins on September 19.
