Entertainment Weekly reported that even though the show did receive one nomination, Bob Thiele Jr., and Noah Gundersen received a nomination for their song, "Day is Gone," in the Original Music and Lyrics category, Sutter had some things to say in guest blog on Nikki Finke.

Sutter explained in his posting that he does want to win an Emmy and that anyone who says different is lying but he added that if Sons was nominated for a major award, such as an Emmy, he believes that they would drop viewers.

"I think we’d drop viewers if ‘Sons of Anarchy‘ were ever nominated for an Emmy. My bombastic outlaw-asshole reputation would be tarnished. Or rather, untarnished," wrote Sutter.

He went on to elaborate on what that statement meant. "I’d be just another smiling douchebag in a new suit, pretending to give a shit on the red carpet. Actually…taking a shit on the red carpet, that’s something that might drop as a ‘real and honest moment.’”

Sons of Anarchy will be concluding following this season. A teaser trailer for the final season has just been released online.
