Maksim Chmerkovskiy confirms to 'The View' he's done performing on 'Dancing With the Stars'

Dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy confirmed on The View Tuesday that he will no longer perform on Dancing With the Stars.

"I'm done dancing," the Ukrainian native said, Us Weekly reports. "I feel like it's time."

He explained that when he returned this year after leaving the show following season 16, "it was not the same--I was different probably. When I came back, I saw this amazing talent...I looked at it and thought they can do much more and better. I was taking up a huge spot."

According to The Star-Ledger, while he will no longer perform, he didn't mention whether he was completely done with DWtS. Chmerkovskiy has previously indicated he'd be interested in becoming a judge for the series.

There might be a seat open for the dancer as judge Len Goodman is known to be contemplating retiring, the site notes.

The 34-year-old who won season 18 with Meryl Davis indicated he was also looking to perhaps start a family of his own. "I have so much I want to give, and I need someone to give it to."
