Williams is said to have stabbed Hoover on July 8 on a Sacramento street.

Once Williams' picture was made public, police say a tip from a resident nearby led them to Williams, who was five miles away, according to the AP.

Hoover’s son, David Williams Jr. told CBS Sacramento that his father would be caught eventually and that everyone thought he was a good person.

Once Barnes found out that Williams was captured, he took to Twitter to thank his followers for their support and tips that led to justice, according to the New York Daily News.

Barnes is entering his 12th season in the NBA. Last season, he started 40 games and averaged just under 10 points per game, according to ESPN Stats.
