Marvel reveals Corey Stoll and Evangeline Lilly's 'Ant-Man' roles

On Saturday at Comic-Con, Marvel finally revealed the roles that Corey Stoll and Evangeline Lilly will be playing in the upcoming Ant-Man film.

Stoll is set to play the villain of the film Darren Cross, aka Yellowjacket, and Lilly will play Hank Pym's daughter Hope Van Dyne, Marvel revealed.

"We look forward to audiences learning more about [Lilly's] character when she joins forces with Hank Pym and Scott Lang in 2015," Marvel's Kevin Feige said. "Corey brings depth to every role he plays."

CinemaBlend notes that the characters are slightly changed from their comic counterparts, with Cross still evil, but instead the founder of Cross Technological Enterprises, while YellowJacket is actually an identity that Ant-Man has gone by in the past.

Lilly's character of Van Dyne is actually the daughter of Ant-Man's girlfriend Janet Van Dyne, aka the Wasp, in the comics, though that one's an easier character to more seamlessly modify for the film.

Ant-Man stars Paul Rudd and Michael Douglas with Peyton Reed on board to helm the film after Edgar Wright departed from the director's chair in May. The film hasn't even gotten too far into production and has already been struggling.

Wright departed and this week Patrick Wilson, Matt Gerard and Kevin Weisman left the project. While the latter two were simply said to be not appearing, Wilson had to pull out over scheduling conflicts.

Ant-Man will hit theaters July 17, 2015.
