Nadege Vanhee-Cybulski to replace Christophe Lemaire as Hermes womenswear designer

Hermes has tapped Nadege Vanhee-Cybulski to replace the departing Christophe Lemaire as womenswear designer.

As previously reported, Lemaire, who has been the womenswear artistic director for the past four years, announced earlier in the week that he would be departing from the French luxury company in favor of continuing to develop his own brand.

"Working for Hermes has been a great pleasure: a profoundly enriching experience on both a human and professional level," Lemaire previously said. "I am proud of what we have built together."

He will officially leave Hermes in October, with Vanhee-Cybulski stepping in and readying for her first collection, which will be unveiled in March 2015.

Axel Dumas, Hermes chief, spoke positively of Vanhee-Cybulski, The Associated Press reports, saying "her talent and creative process will be assets in developing female ready-to-wear."

The new womenswear designer was excited about the new post saying she is "overjoyed to join the Hermes house, which I admire and share all my values with."

Vanhee-Cybulski previously worked on projects for Celine and Martin Margiela and also was the design director for Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen's The Row.
