Pablo Schreiber not returning to 'Orange is the New Black' for season 3

Orange is the New Black fans… will you rejoice or cry over the news? Pablo Schreiber, who plays George Mendez also known as ‘Pornstache’, is officially not coming back for season three.

As we previously reported, Schreiber has landed himself a leading role on HBO’s show The Brink and while it was unknown if he could do both, we now know he cannot.

Schreiber told the New York Post that the decision was his own and not too difficult to make as he stated, “I am not taking part in the third season. Yeah, I was never a series regular on ‘Orange Is The New Black.’ I was always a guest star. The role that I have on ‘The Brink’ is a starring role, and it’s a no brainer,” he says. “Absolutely, I chose to jump on board with that show. It was a better move for me as an actor.”

Yet Schreiber remains to hold the upmost respect for show creator Jenji Kohan as he said, “I feel so grateful to ‘Orange.’ [Creator] Jenji [Kohan] obviously means a ton to me. I respect her to no end. I think she writes the best dialogue on TV right now. While season three is out of the picture, beyond that is open.”

So Pornstache may return for future seasons but the third season will include his mother as E! Online reports there are rumors that Mary Steenburgen will be honored with the role.

Will you miss Pornstache or is it time for him to go?
