Petra Kvitova takes the Wimbledon title over Eugenie Bouchard

Petra Kvitova has won the Wimbledon title before but not like this. She played a great game of tennis and made shots that shocked that audience. Taking down Canadian Eugenie Bouchard, Kvitova wins with a 6-3,6-0. Kvitova took the win with great serves and a strong defense. In the end, she dominated the 20-year-old and has never played a better match then this Grand Slam final.

On Saturday, Kvitova was surprised by herself for the game she has played. The very quick match was filled with the 24-year-old deflecting crazy passing shots, scoring aces and playing an amazing defense that no one knew she was capable of according to USA Today. Bouchard didn’t stand a chance against the powerhouse that was Kvitova. The Czech showed Bouchard why she’s one of the biggest hitters in tennis. Winning the final meant a lot Kvitova and was proud to do it in front of her father.

While Bouchard may have lost the match, she gained a lot by getting that far. Other than being the first ever Canadian to make it to the Grand Slam finals, she was also named Britain’s Princess Eugenie says The Los Angeles Times. The 1990s born women shared a respectful handshake at the end of the game.

Today, Roger Federer goes against 2011 winner, Novak Djokovic, for a record eighth Wimbledon title.
