Top 10 goals from the 2014 World Cup

The 2014 edition of the World Cup is officially over. Germany won their fourth World Cup Title by beating Argentina 1-0 on a goal from Mario Götze in the 113 minute. Lionel Messi of Argentina won the Golden Ball as the top player during the tournament, James Rodriquez of Colombia won the Golden Boot as the top scorer for the tournament, Manuel Neuer of Germany won the Golden Glove as the top goalkeeper, and Paul Pogba of France won the Young Player Award, according to Fifa.

This year there were 171 goals scored in 64 matches during the tournament, which tied the record for the most goals in a single tournament. There were several goal-based records broken or tied during the tournament. James Rodriquez scored in his first five World Cup appearances, becoming the first player since 1970 to do that in a single tournament. Mirslav Klose became the all-time leader in goals, at 16, scored at the World Cup with his score against Brazil. When Germany beat Brazil 7-1, Brazil set the record for the largest loss by a host nation, according to The Guardian.
