Washington Wizards acquire Kris Humphries

Free-agent forward Kris Humphries has agreed to a three-year $13 million deal with the Washington Wizards.
The Boston Celtics are finalizing a sign-and-trade agreement with the Washington Wizards to fit Humphries’ deal into the salary cap. The Wizards can send Boston part of the trade exception earned with Houston in their recent sign-and-trade deal for Trevor Ariza according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports.
Humphries, 29, averaged eight points and six rebounds for the Celtics last year. He will replace Trevor Booker as a backup power forward for the Wizards. Booker accepted a two-year $10 million deal with the Utah Jazz on Tuesday.
Humphries will provide much needed depth behind Marcin Gortat and Nene. Humphries has an efficient .558 true shooting percentage and grabbed 16.9 percent of all available rebounds while on the court according to Kurt Helin of NBC sports.
Washington has already had a productive off-season re-signing Gortat and replacing Ariza with veteran Paul Pierce. They also have a healthy group of young talent in Bradley Beal, Otto Porter and John Wall.
