'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' director Zack Snyder calls into Detroit radio station to defend Aquaman

Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice director Zach Snyder wasn't too happy to hear Detroit radio hosts disparaging Aquaman and called in to defend the DC Comics character.

Snyder did actually call in to the 97.1 show The Ticket's Stoney and Bill, TheWrap confirms. The director says he felt they were too harsh and had to speak up.

He explained that Aquaman is actually quite strong and is capable of "cut[ting] the flesh of Superman" with his trident. "It's not to say that he's in the movie or anything like that," Snyder added. "But he has the potential to be bad ass."

According to MTV News, he explained that Aquaman is stronger than people often think because he can live at deep depths in the ocean, "so when he comes up here he's crazy strong."

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theaters March 25, 2016 after being moved up from the May 6 release date, opting not to try and fight over that weekend with Marvel's Captain America 3, which is currently slotted for that date.
