Beyonce and Jay Z's 'On the Run' tour surpasses $100 million mark as predicted

Despite the persistent rumors surrounding the demise of Jay Z and Beyonce’s marriage, their On the Run tour is doing better than imaginable.

As their North American leg almost wraps up, the vice president of North American touring for Live Nation, Omar Al-Joulani, confirms they will sell over $100 million worth of tickets at the conclusion.

According to Billboard, the tour will end with a bang with a two-night run at AT&T Park in San Francisco, starting Tuesday night.

The tour, which will air on HBO next month, was plagued with rumors that it wasn’t doing well. Al-Joulani denies these reports, saying “everybody’s winning.”

Forbes predicted back in June that the On the Run tour, pairing two of the most successful artists of our generation, would be the second most successful tour in history behind U2’s 360 tour if they surpassed the $100 million mark - which they have.

The On the Run tour was filled with over 90 percent capacity each night, grossing $5.2 million nightly from an average attendance of about 45,000 a show.

“This has been a lot of work, but it has been the smoothest, most fun run that I’ve ever worked on,” said Al-Joulani. “We have a great group of people on the road, the artists have been phenomenal, both management teams are engaged and available. It has been a ball, and I’m actually sad it’s ending. I wish we could be out for another two months.”
