George W. Bush does the ice bucket challenge

Former president George W. Bush made the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge presidential by taking the challenge and then challenging former president Bill Clinton.

TheCelebrityCafe.com previously reported that many celebrities have been taking the challenge to raise awareness for ALS, better known as Lou Gehrig's disease after the Major League baseball player.

ALS is a degenerative disease that attacks nerves in the brain and spinal cord, according to . The Ice Bucket Challenge began on social media in order to raise awareness and money for the disease. The challenge is simple: once challenged one either dump ice water on their head in a video or donate $100 to The ALS Association.

In President Bush’s video, the former president says he does not think it is “presidential to be splashed in ice water” and will therefore right a check to the association. Former First Lady Laura Bush then took matters in to her own hands by dumping a bucket of ice water on her husband’s head.

“That check is for me,” said the former First Lady. “I don’t want to ruin my hair style.”

President Bush goes on to challenge former President Bill Clinton as a “birthday present.”

The challenge is supposed to last the rest of the month. According to the Daily News, the challenge has already raised $10 million.
