When the 2014 summer movie season kicked off, not many people guessed that Guardians of the Galaxy would be able to take over the box office title for the summer. The group of misfits not only set summer box office records but also is on track to be the highest grossing film of the year. With the summer movie season winding down, movie fans are now looking ahead to the fall and winter movie schedule.

The upcoming movie season features another wide range of films, from sci-fi to comedies, the momentum from the summer movie season is likely to keep going into the fall with releases like Gone Girl and Foxcatcher .
