Brad Paisley throws shade and praise at Taylor Swift

Country singer Brad Paisley commented on Taylor Swift’s new switch from country to pop while promoting his new album, Moonshine in the Trunk.

Paisley praised Swift’s "admirable" move to "evolve," he told E! News.

"People are going to have to get used to it cause its not the Taylor Swift obviously that you knew," he said. "Because this is somebody—like, she was talking about how she cut her hair, and she is spending time in different cities more and becoming more of a product—and she is a world famous superstar now. She is just not Nashville's, and we just have to kind of get used to that."

We previously reported on Swift’s ground breaking move to release a new single, music video, and announce a new pop album on Yahoo Livestream. Swift’s song “Shake It Off” moved to Billboard's Hot 100 chart's No. 1 spot within a week of the song being released.

Paisley said he believes everything about Swift’s turn to pop would be a hit. The “Mud on the Tires” singer also admired Swift’s courage to call out the haters in “Shake It Off.”

"All of us have the urge to do that, and I respect her for doing that," said Paisley. "I have that urge to do that as well, because it gets old just taking it when you're in the public eye."

Paisley also seemed to throw a slight amount of shade at the move of calling people out.

"It gets old to sort of take it, and it's very noble to not say anything, but it's hard. It becomes a lot of fun to really steam now and again and challenge somebody who hates you. Because in the end, it's all very sort of unreal and not always accurate."

Moonshine in the Trunk, Paisley’s ninth album, was released August 26.
