Cee Lo Green dropped from Louisiana music festival

Cee Lo Green continues to fall out of favor with the music industry and fans alike.

Now yet another gig has fallen through for the singer. According to The Times-Picayune, Green was supposed to headline the Gretna Heritage Festival on Oct. 5 in Gretna, Louisiana. Green's Twitter comments reportedly prompted his axing from the music festival. In a press release, festival officials said Green would be replaced by Joan Jett and the Blackhearts.

Jefferson Parish, co-chair for the Gretna Heritage Festival said Green's comments were "not acceptable", adding, "Our community does not condone these disparaging remarks delivered by Cee Lo Green, and we feel this entertainer does not represent what our festival is about and has achieved over the past 20 years."

Green's ousting was also encouraged by a petition on Change.org.

In the past week, the Grammy-winner has already pleaded no-contest to a felony drug charge after being accused of slipping ecstasy into a woman's drink in 2012. The charges stemming from the incident prompted his departure as a judge from NBC's The Voice. Green also dealt with backlash stemming from incendiary tweets he posted about the definition of rape and what constitutes a rape victim, and his new TBS series The Good Life was also cancelled. Executives at TBS however, say that The Good Life's cancellation had to do with low ratings.
