Florida murder suspect arrested, autistic boy found safe

Authorities said that they have arrested a man on suspicion of a quadruple murder and found a missing autistic child that may be his son.

FOX News Latino reported that a SWAT team from the Pasco County Sheriff's Office and the Tampa Police Department worked alongside each other and stormed a downtown hotel for suspect Adam Matos.

CNN noted that Tampa police Chief Jane Castor said law enforcement was able to get the suspect out of his room with a “ruse.”

The 28-year-old was apprehended and police found missing four-year-old, Ismael Tristan Santisteban, with Matos at the hotel. Officials believe that the suspect could be the boy’s father.

An Amber alert was issued for the child earlier this week after authorities doing a welfare check on him found the bodies of four murder victims near the boy’s Hudson home. Officers discovered the bodies of the deceased on hill after smelling a foul odor and the manhunt began.

So far, detectives have not released the identities of the victims or how they were killed.

Police were previously called to the victims’ home for a domestic violence incident involving Matos, but by the time they arrived he was gone. On Friday, he was charged with that incident.
