Ohio teens accused of dumping urine, feces on teen with autism in fake ALS Ice Bucket Challenge (Video)

An Ohio high school student with autism was the victim of a horrific prank by classmates, who tricked him into taking a fake ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. Instead of ice water, the boy’s mother said that the teens dumped a barrel filled with urine, feces, spit and cigarette butts on her son.

“Once we found out about it, we were just horrified,” Diane, the teen’s mother, told Fox 8 in Cleveland. Her youngest son attends Bay Village High School. His name has not been revealed to protect his identity, but they did ask that Fox 8 air the disturbing video to make others aware of the bullying.

Diane said that her son, 15, was blindfolded in the video. He is seen only wearing underwear when the barrel is dumped onto him.

“I mean, the first thing that popped into my mind was like, why could someone – how could someone do this?” Jacob, his brother, told Fox 8. “How could someone really be this cruel to someone?”

Bay Village Police Chief Mark Spaetzel told Cleveland.com that he found the teens’ actions “reprehensible.” Spaetzel said that the victim’s own phone was used to record the video and then they posted it on social media. They will investigate the incident and said charges are possible.

Cleveland.com later reported that the community has rallied behind the victim and plan to help raise autism awareness before Friday night’s game. Students will be raising money for Autism Speaks.

“It hurts us deeply to see such a wonderful effort twisted to deliberately cause someone pain,” Bay Village school district Superintendent Clint Keener said in a statement.
